Best format for a "Smartboard"

Post by Terfyn »

I have been asked to edit a video diary to be shown on a school smartboard. The video will be saved to a USB memorystick. What is the best way to "share" this video? I was proposing "Share->Create Video File" but I am not sure which option to choose after this.
Any help would be appreciated.
I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not so sure.

That really depends a great deal on the SmartBoard and what software it uses - in my local school the teachers all just connect their laptops to the SmartBoard and operate from there - so I just burn an mp4 to a SD card in a USB card reader (because I had so many USB sticks fail on me) then they just select "Play" and whatever they have on their PC plays it - usually Windows Media player.

But are your SmartBoards more modern than ours - does it have inbuilt software and controls and not need an external PC - if so you need to find out a bit more about what is inside them.
