Jim,
If I might ask...where did you find BrowserProtect on your system? Which browser was it associated with? I am still looking for BrowserProtect, Babylon, etc. but am not finding it where the Knowledgebase article suggests and am wondering if there's somewhere else I might look. I had all 3 browsers installed, but have since uninstalled Firefox completely...

Thanks for the uninstall zip file, will download and try it today in hopes that I just need a clean install. Was considering just reinstalling my operating system to clean out everything, but was hoping this would be a simple fix...

Thank you, lata, for the suggestion of updating the video drivers. After reading through the suggestions today, I downloaded the uninstall zip file provided and then went to Windows Updates to check. Lo and behold, there was an nVidia GeForce update at the top of the optional updates page. I downloaded and installed it, rebooted my computer and launched VS. A bunch of boxes popped up of stuff that apparently never finished properly installing (prodad vitascene, etc) once those were done, I rebooted again and VS launched properly. I even went and rendered a quick video clip to make sure it completed a project (I did the reinstall because it was not completing projects.) I'm so glad it was something simple! Anyway, I wanted to thank everyone on this forum for your suggestions and quick responses...you guys truly are pros! Thank you!
