Showcasing PI X4

Post by garjobo »

Using paintshop pro x4.

Having been previously used too photoimpact 12 ( i think it was ) just playing around with this pro x4. Not looking for anything special - just more stable programme ( PI 12 kept crashing etc )

In a nutshell, two quick things im sure most will know the answer too.

(A) How do I get a 'type of' list/showcase of all the frames / photo effect / pencil effects / bubbles etc - to show up on the main screen..on the right hand side ( like in PI12 ). I know i can use a dropdown list..but what a job! having to click here and there..when in PI12..all you had to do is...go to the right-hand side, and hover/click over a photo frame for example..and it would show you there and then what your image will look like with the desired photo frame or bubble effect.

I assume its just a simple case of clicking a button to make this viewable menu appear.

(B) I cant seem to blend out the edges of a photo. I know it can be done..nothing exciting..just literally, have a photo and i want to blurr/smear the edges..so that it will blend into the background...or a colour in the background. All i can achieve when clicking on the photoframe is - despite using options of 'create effect on the inside or outside of the frame' etc is that it makes a whopping great white border around the photo and blends in with that!!!

(A) Try Effects > Effects Browser

(B) try Layers > Load/Save Mask >Load Mask from Disk and you have a few masks there you can load.
Also you can make and save your own preferred masks for later use.
