Creating Objects

Post by paulette28 »

Hi
I'm trying to create my own objects to place on the overlay track. I have created them as a gif file to maintain transparency( I use Photoshop) but when I import them there is a white background. I have been able to use the chroma key to remove the white background but I am wondering why the transparency is not there. On the objects provided by the program, the background is transparent. I noticed that they were png files but when I tried that it didn't work either. Any suggestions?
Thanks.

Try saving your object as a *.TIF (and maintain transparency).

to maintain transparency you need to save the object as a .png or a .tga image

Hi Paulette

Video Studio seems to support Photoshop documents.

Save your images as *.psd.

What you see in Photoshop is what you see in Video Studio.

Thank you for the responses. I had tried the first suggestion which was a.tiff file(maintaing transparency) and it worked. I'll give the others a try as well and see if there are any differences. What I want to do is have some animation on top of my stills. Plan to use key frames but I'm also playing around with CoolEdit to see if that will work out better.Just have to learn it first! :D
