Comparable to Photoimpact

Post by Burr »

Hello there,

I just decided to buy the Photoimpact x3, when I was advised that it is being phased out. They suggested as a comparable program the Paintshop x5. yikes,,, rings of Photoshop too much. Photoimpact was easy to use and learn. Paintshop took me an hour to figure out I have to set the background and foreground colors to black to get my text to fill in and no free hand rotation??? Sure I can free had the box, but then I have to drop it to see where the picture ends up.

Frustrating why picture editors have to be complicated. Photoimpact I just choose, Text and type, done... No declaring floating or vectors things, and now it pastes something even time I try to add text. In order for me to change 50 picture sizes, I have to record a script or capture editing, swith to manage tab and apply editing? In photoimpact, I simply slected all the pics and batch resized, 2 steps and done. sigh...

So, I do see that people have had no trouble using Photimpact on Windows8, so I assume Windows7 is ok too, but Im not comfortable with purchasing a phased out program with no hope of support in the future. So, my question, after my rant...sorry, is there something like Photoimpact for the simple people of the world like me.

Thanks

Hi Burr

It is sad the PhotoImpact has been dropped by Corel since purchasing it. It does work on Win8 but some people do have a few issues. Works great on Win7 though.

Over in PIRC many of us use PI and will until it won't work any longer on newer operating systems.

Yes, PI is a very easy software to use, but it's a matter of learning and becoming proficient using a programme. At first I didn't much like PSP, but now it is one of my most preferred editing programmes.
It does do a lot more than PI does.
