I still live in the land of analogue for the most part as well shoot digial. I would love to see support for single channel 16bit TIFF and Vuescans DNG format. Also when working with DNG scans the ability to invert the negative on opening would be good. Support for Infrared channel dustbust would also be good too.
Just a thought

Re: Film tools
seconded. Especially single channel tiff shouldn't be that hard imho?
But what I'd like most is an increase of the maximum number of megapixels that can be processed. 30 or 50 or whatever isn't really enough for medium format shots...
Oh well at least i got a stand alone version of silicon bonk

Re: Film tools
Although the heal tool works well for dust busting (although not as nice as heal in Photoshop), I would also love to see better tools for cleaning up scratches. I still find myself doing the grade look in ASP working at 48bit, export 8bit JPG and then dust busting and scratch removal in Photoshop Elements. Annoying to have to use multiple packages to create my final image. The layer based correction in ASP is really nice for for clean up work.

Re: Film tools
As an update on this, I have just bought Paintshop Pro based on the scratch removal and makeup tool. I refused to pay for a full blown version of Photoshop - or even rent it - as I'm not a graphic artist and Elements is still only 8bit per channel. This gave me everything I need between ASP and PSP, although I would still love to see the scratch removal and makeover tool for spot removal included in ASP (pretty please with sugar on).
The heal brush in Photoshop is still faster but the makeup tool does an okay job. Where I miss Photoshop is on non-straight scratches (hair or similar non-straight defect) where you could just draw along the defect and it pixel fills from either side. It's quick and easy to do a rapid touch up with a tablet in this manner. With Paintshop Pro I find myself dabbing my way along the defect which ergonomically speaking isn't ideal and is time consuming, but given the price differential I can live with it.
* Please give us some grain management tools in ASP - Grain management and intelligent dust busting (IR channel support)
* Better clean up tools - you have some nice tools in PSP and clone doesn't cut it for film work
* Larger file size limit (Raw Therapee can do it and you're 64bit as well!)
* Single channel support for B&W work (16bit single channel TIFF)
* VueScan's TIFF DNG format (many RAW tools handle this so ASP should be able too along with the ability to do an invert on opening so the tools make sense of it)
Film isn't going away any time soon and Adobe don't care about it; so maybe you can differentiate yourselves by having these features.
My 2c worth
