I don't know where to turn to solve my problem. The letter below was sent to Corel in 3 different emails to tech support, but I have not received a response. I hope that someone out there can help.
I am at a point of total frustration.
Let’s start at the beginning. On December 17 2012 I purchased at Fry’s Electronics Pinnacle Studio 16 Ultimate at a cost of $139.41 Serial #JBUAF-ABBAA-BJLJK-KIAAB-XXXXX
Upon loading it on my Lenovo i3 computer I started having problems. It ran so slow that it was impossible to do anything. Approximately every 15 minutes it would crash and the program would shut down. I talked to tech support, and was told that the processor was not fast enough to handle Pinnacle 16 Ultimate.
I uninstalled it, put the box on the shelf of my home/office and waited until I could afford a larger computer. I’m 72 years old, retired and on a fixed income.
On May 1 of this year I purchased an HP Envy, running Win8, with an Intel i7, 12 gig of ram and a 1T hard drive. It works flawlessly. All of my software runs without a problem. I installed Pinnacle Studio 16 Ultimate on my new computer and then as per their instructions, installed the recommended update from their web site.
It worked great. I got so excited I even ordered Sonicfire for Studio and Scorefitter Vol 3. Everything worked great…for 2 days. Then I started getting error messages and the program would shut down. It reached a point where as soon as I loaded the program and it finished displaying the Pinnacle logo. It would crash and shut down.
I uninstalled it and reinstalled and this time it worked for a couple of hours before crashing and once again progressed to crashing upon loading.
Please understand that every other piece of software I own works flawlessly.
I contacted HP tech support and they found nothing wrong with the unit. I’m protected by Norton 360 by the way.
Yesterday I took the computer to Best Buy and since I purchased a Geek Squad plan when I purchased the computer they spent the day looking for problems. The only problem that they could find is Pinnacle crashes for no apparent reason, but there is nothing wrong with the computer. In the month I’ve owned the computer, I have not seen an error message of any kind, except for Pinnacle.
During this ordeal I purchased Cyberlink Power Director 11 and it runs just fine, but unfortunately I don’t care for it as much as Pinnacle. (When it worked)
So here’s my problem. I spent $139.41 for Pinnacle 16 Ultimate, $59.90 for Scorefitter and Sonicfire, not to mention, just short of $1,000 for a new computer and I still can’t use Pinnacle.
What I want is very simple. I want it to work. As you know I can’t talk to a live human at Pinnacle/Corel without giving them more money, since I’m past the 14 day free tech support period, and at this point that seems foolish.
Please, can someone offer some sort of solution. The money is spent, I just want it to work for longer than a few minutes.
Sincerely,
Al Boyajan

Re: Pinnacle Studio 16 Ultimate
I'm sorry you are having this problem. But unfortunately this board has no coverage of Pinnacle, even though it is a Corel program these days. We are a user to user board which is essentially devoted to earlier programs taken over by Corel. However we have been given no responsibility for Pinnacle. Moreover I understand that the existing Pinnacle forums continue to operate though I don't have an internet address for them.

Re: Pinnacle Studio 16 Ultimate
Thanks for the response. I understand that your position. It is kind of odd that nobody wants any responsibility with anything to do with Pinnacle, and that includes Corel.
Thanks again, and you may drop me off of your membership roster.
Thanks,

Re: Pinnacle Studio 16 Ultimate
I have just done a quick Google search and found that the Pinnacle (and Avid) forums can be found at http://forums.pinnaclesys.com/forums/242/ShowForum.aspx
