Q: Migrating PSP X5 to new machine?

Post by RogerStenning »

Hi :)

This is my first posing here, and I've searched for an answer on this question, but couldn't find one, so here goes...

Background and Situation:

My old machine, an Acer Aspire One D255 (a 32-Bit Intel Atom N450 @ 1.66GHz with 1 Gb RAM running Win7 Home Premium) netbook did, somewhat amazingly, successfully run PSP X5, albeit slowly (frankly, it struggled). I now have a new notebook (an early birthday present from my partner), which is a Toshiba Satellite C855 running Win8 (64 bit), and the specs for it are listed in my profile here.

I obviously want to transfer (migrate) the software from the old machine to the new one.

As my copy of PSP X5 was a downloaded purchase, I have no discs; While the original downloaded installation files were corrupted thanks to a massive disk failure last year, I still have the serial numbers, and they're registered to me on the Corel registration database (I checked that first off).

Question:

Can I just download the files again, and plug in the existing serial numbers, and if so, where can I download them from, or is there a specific process I have to follow in order to migrate the software? If the latter, what is that process?

Thanks in advance for any help on this one.
Cheers,

Roger Stenning

Yes, you can just download and install and use the same serial numbers.

Log into Corel.com

At the bottom of you Account page you'll see a section for "Order Status & History" and you'll see a link for "See All Orders"

If you don't see that then simply go here: https://www.corel.com/corel/accountOrde ... istory.jsp

Find your order and it should provide you with all of the downloads that came with your order.

Outstandingly quick reply, thanks!

Yup, found 'em, must have missed that earlier when I checked on the serial numbers! Just as well I had the download insurance :)

Again, thanks :)

And now make a couple of backups on different media of your downloaded files (other programs as well) so that corruption of one disc does not lose all you have paid for.
