The reason I might want to track motion a title is more to keep it stable than to make it move.
The video I am editing is of a school orchestra concert. The players are seated in place, not moving. However, the camera is sometimes panning, so that if the title remains at the same place on the screen, it ends up moving over different heads. I would like the title to remain at the same place in relation to the orchestra, even when the camera pans.
Track Motion could be used to do that, correct?
I tried it, following the directions in the user guide, which seemed quite complex. I set a tracker with track motion (beginning the same time as the title starts), then right-clicked the title and chose "match motion".
After doing that, playing back the project, I now see no title at all on the video. The only way I could see the title again was to "remove motion".
Could someone tell me how to do this correctly?
Thank you in advance.

There is an option in the Title for the words to slide off the screen. You can control the "speed" of this by shortening or lengthening the title clip in the track. So by careful positioning and timing you may get the effect you want.
I was under the impression that track motion had more to do with the video and not the add-ons.
Another idea, you can move a title from the title track into an overlay track and try Track Motion from there.

I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not so sure.

Yes, I know about dealing with title animation, length of clip, etc. But I am asking to keep a title, for instance, over a particular person's head. Track motion should do that.
Yes, you can do "match motion" of a title, to match it to a tracker one puts in the video. However, my result was that the title disappeared.
Can anyone help with this?
Thanks/

Do a google search on "Track motion VS X6" and there are many hits and tutorials.
Starting on Page 144, the X6 Manual describes "customize motion" which is exactly what you want I believe.

Re: How to Track Motion Titles in Corel Video Studio X6
Hi
Interesting little exercise, not sure if this is suitable but does seem to work, a little practice and it is easy to set.
I used the Advanced Motion option
I had to use a Colour clip, or any Image would do.
Place in the overlay track under the pan section, set duration to fit the pan.
Resize the clip and place over head of person.
Double click the clip in the timeline to open the options panel-Attributes tab- Advanced motion-Customise
Now use the Advanced Motion to track the pan of your clip.
Play the section and the image will follow the head.
Now all we have to do is replace the image with a text box.
Create a text containing the name.
Drag to the library to make a copy
Drag the copy to the timeline, whilst dragging press the Ctrl key
Drop the clip over the Colour Clip / Image
The clip will be replaced with the text clip.
I had some issues with the sizing of the text, needs a bit more testing.
I have attached a VSP, zipped of the effect.

Re: How to Track Motion Titles in Corel Video Studio X6
I did it using the "Track Motion" option and this is what I did.
put the video in the timeline - select it and click on the "track motion" icon just under the bottom right corner of the preview window - track motion dialogue window opens.
click on "Tracker 01" in the bottom right box to highlight tracker target - move target to item to be tracked.
In the bottom right corner of the motion tracker dialogue box click to tick the "Add matched object" box - a cyan box appears in preview window.
use you cursor to move that cyan box to a position relative to the target - pull the corners to resize it to be big enough to read your title.
now click on the icon dead centre under the preview window (mouse tip says "track motion")
the video will play through and at the end a cyan line will appear in the preview screen which is the motion line.
click OK in the track motion dialogue window and you go back to the editing timeline - after a short period an extra place holder "1" will appear in the overlay track and in the main preview window.
drag your title down from the library to the place holder in the overlay track - press "CTRL" as you approach the track this ensures that your title matches exactly the length and position of the place holder.
play your video and title moves with targeted item.
it may be better to chop your video into shorter sections including just the bit you want to track in each one - rather than have continuous titles running all through the video.
