Errors in Windows 8

Post by Scrap Addict »

I recently got a new computer with Windows 8 and have been getting various error messages in PSP X2 since installing it on my new computer.

1) A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.

2) Run Time Error! R6025 pure virtual function call. (I click ok) A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.

3) Not Enough Memory - As a new, mostly empty computer, I do not understand why I keep getting these errors.

I had planned to upgrade to PSP X5, but do not want to spend money on a program that may not work, judging by the odd errors I am getting. Please let me now what these errors mean, why they are happening (on a brand new computer) and how to fix them. Also if these or other issues would be present if I upgraded to x5 when using windows 8

Don't know what those mean. You can try running the program in compatibility mode. Right-click on the icon, select Properties, under the compatibility tab select an OS compatibility that you know works.

See if that helps.

Exactly what these problems are I cannot say. But PSPX5 is more likely to work properly under Windows 8 than X2 is. In fact it's Windows 8 compatible specifically.

Best way to find out if X5 will work for you is to download the Trial.

I've got X2 running on a Win8 machine, haven't noticed any problems yet, but haven't used it a lot either. If you can recreate the problem, tell me what you were doing at the time the errors occur and I'll try to reproduce the problem on my installation. Not sure if that will help you much, but if we both see the same error then that would seem to indicate that X2 is not quite stable on Win8 and you should look for another version instead.
