Memory Error
I am using PSPv9 & working on 3600x3600 px with resolution at 300 ppi & I keep getting an error about not enough memory to complete this operation. I have 16 GB of ram on my PC.

Re: Memory Error
There's a bug in later versions where the program wouldn't release the memory back to the computer after it's been used and the file has been closed. Eventually enough memory would accumulatively be allocated to PSP that PSP couldn't use (yes, very ironic). There's a small utility that rectifies this for this and any other memory hog. http://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/cleanmem.html It works different from any other memory cleaner that I've heard of in that it does not just send your memory files to the cache and fill that up, but rather releases the memory. When setting it up you can set it to run every 5 minutes, which I have done, and the chances that you'll use that much ram in 5 minutes is pretty slim. This is a service that runs in the background.
The other issue is that a 32 bit program can only address up to 4gb of ram, but only if it's been instructed to do so. Otherwise it will only address up to 2gb of ram. There's another utility for that you'd only need to run once. It unlocks the 4gb limit on a 64 bit system. If you run it on a 32 bit system it will crash the system when you run the program that's instructed to use more ram. The utility can be found on another forum (a gamer figured it out of course) http://www.techpowerup.com/forums/showt ... p?t=112556 The first posting is updated with the latest build so you won't need to read 8+ pages of posts to figure out how to use it.
If this doesn't rectify the problem let us know.

Re: Memory Error
Thanks a bunch Dan. I have downloaded both but I have a question about the Large Address Aware. If I use the MemClean, do I really need to use the other one?

Re: Memory Error
If PSP 9 is unable to access 4GBs on its own, it's a nice thing to have. Using them both in conjunction should make PSP a little more usable as you won't be wasting memory, and you can also hold a lot more in there. While you don't have to use Large Address Aware, it definitely doesn't hurt.

Re: Memory Error
Okay.....I will use that one too. I can't tell you how much I appreciate this. I work in my PSP program 8 to 16 hours a day, every day. I guess that tells you why it is a 'little frustrating' for me.
