Project Settings for Youtube from AVCHD files

Post by laura05 »

My camera films in AVCHD 1080, 25fps. I currently use VideoStudeo x6. i have been using it for a while and when i export for youtube videos, i find its only quality video when you change the youtube video to HD. Is there a way to set the video, so its still crisp and clear at 360p/480p, as i find its always distorted at these levels, although the footage is amazing in hd. Could someone tell me the exact project properties i should set and the file export settings.

I am fully aware of the settings for youtube, however is it because iam filming in AVCHd i cant get that clean crisp look at lower levels on youtube? as the best setting for youtube are mpeg files. for reference please check this video i did: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=61JGNrVZzXQ

any advice would be great, thanks

Hello,

I didn't find problems in both ways of playing back your youtube-movies.
What project- and exportproperties did you use?

To me it looked quite good, also movements are fluent and smooth (when I render my AVCHD-m2ts footage in CVS-X4, movements become unfluent as if you're watching at 12 fps  ).

Any advise for better project- and exportproperties I am not able to give you, however...

Hi Laura

Why on earth are you downscaling a HD video to the lowest quality. 360P
The sample you gave was created in full HD 1920 x 1080 and indeed plays ok at that level, and at full screen

If you have a problem with your internet speed then yes you can play at a lower rate.
But others with a fast connection should have the opportunity of viewing at full quality.

Share Upload to Web will create a video using 24 bits, 1280 x 720, 25 fps which would downscale your HD but still retain good quality.

I use 50p for YT uploads.YouTube has a low quality de-interlacer (field repetition). Two YT test uploads(links) show (when viewed at 1080p on a full HD screen) the difference in aliasing and the halving of vertical resolution in 50i vs 50p uploads.. . 0p.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TBkAvseJwuM
