PSPX4: asked for reinstall, wont install

Post by bang »

Ok in 2 days this will get desperate, Ive a shoot on that must be processed by Thurs 16th
I have PSPX4 and Video Studio Ultimate package on my Win7 system

I went to start PSPX4 and got a system error, suggested I reinstall
it looked just like this one which I now have for Video Studio as well
notice too, the Ultimate package is still installed, and now I cant remove it

I thought about it for awhile but didnt see any other option
So I tried reinstall over existing app, that didnt take

Then I uninstalled the original, and went to reinstall PSP from my onboard exe
I bought my copy online, I dont have an install CD

The reinstall didnt work either, I just get an error msg

I have checked DivX is uptodate, I have had 5 programs look for viruses/malware/trojans including Kapersky which I just downloaded
apart from some minor issues the drives are clean, there are no other system issues
I have a photo & video shoot on Wed that needs to be delivered Thurs, I am VERY concerned

any ideas would be welcome
I may need to 'TRY' get these apps onto another box to complete my work if needs be, what is my regulatory position on that re licensing?

I can't help with the technical nature of your problems -- though if you look in the VS forum, lata has just provided a link to another user on how to manually uninstall VS. But as for the above question, you can install the products on up to 3 computers, though under the EULA, you can only have the program actually running on one computer at a time (which of course would not be a problem for you in your current circumstance! )

well I followed as best I could, obviously ver 6 and ver 4 are different
I deleted the programs from the C: directory, searched hard to gather all remnants
I deleted 100's of entries in the registry searching in the vicinities mentioned
ran CC cleaner twice between reboots

but no dice, neither app will install

I see theres a sticky now for manual removal, not sure it would have worked for me anyway
I blew the lot away today and started again with a clean install
just this minute got it all back together

thanks for those that thought about it on my behalf...
