Hello all and need some help. Just want to know *how to do this* because of choices presented to me. Here is my situation.
Have Sony HDR-TD20V 3D camera and transferred 3D videos to PC.
Starting X6 program files are recognized as 3D (little box bottom left) putting videos in timeline. Went to "Create Video File" and selected 3D per manual.
Now here is what I need to know my options as presented.
I want to use a Bluray disc to burn with burner (BD) and play in my Sony S570 3D player to 3D Tv.
Do I use the Bluray setting and what format (1920x1080)?
I know there is AVCHD, MVC and so on as choices.
In other words (in case others have similar camcorder and X6 software) can someone please state the steps I need to follow.
I was wondering if I had to leave file as is or have it side by side, etc.
My 3D Tv is able to play any formats (side, Up/DN, etc) I used the Sony PlayMemories and burned a bluray successfully but played only in 2D.
I've read about players needed to be AVCHD 2.0 to play PlayMemories 3D made disc.
I hope some of my questions make sense otherwise I can be more specific.
I want to be able to use X6 to create discs, burn them and play in BD 3D player.
Thanks for anyone that may shed light on this matter.

Ok...here's the deal. Went out and bought Sony S5100 3D player, put disc in (I burned) and it read it as 3D and played in 3D, yea!
Even though my other 3d player was about 1 1/2 yrs old, it was outdated.
This is using PlayMemories software and burning disc with no menu, titles, etc.
That's why I got Corel X6 ultimate to create menus, etc. and burn the 3D disc.
My main question using X6, I select Create Video File then the 3D option, it shows DVD, Bluray, Avchd, Mvc and so on.
Which option is chosen? The m2ts file is from the HDR-TD20V Handycam, 1920x1080.
Those of you that may have this Handycam and software, what selection do you use for 3D playback in player?
Got to be someone here (main software company forum) that knows.

Re: Burning 3D videos with VideoStudioPro x6
Hello GCL,
I'm just another user. Here is what I did to create a 3D Blu-ray disc about an hour ago.
1. Share > Create Video file > 3D > MVC. I picked 1280x720 60P (you can pick one of the other MVC profiles if you want).
2. Start a new project and drag the MVC file from the library to the timeline. The MVC clip must have "3D" showing on the thumbnail, otherwise you did something wrong in step 1.
3. Share > Create Disc > Blu-ray.
4. Add menu if desired. The menu and video won't show as 3D in the menu designer, but will be 3D when played back from disc.
5. Burn disc. I use rewritable Blu-ray discs for testing. If you use rewritable, make sure to erase it before clicking the burn button.
I don't have a 3D Blu-ray player, but playing the disc in my PC's Blu-ray player works in PowerDVD 12 as 3D.
Hope that helps. Kingston

Re: Burning 3D videos with VideoStudioPro x6
Hey Kingston, thanks for some information. I tried Corel's tech assistance but referred me to X4's help file on subject or back to Corel forum for users to help out.
The crux of my question for Corel and users out there, after I drop (actual 3D video file with 3D in thumbnail) video files into the timeline, go to Create Video File, choose 3D;
Now if I choose MVC and click on AVCHD (1920x1080) (size of project) a box opens and if I select options, another box opens with some boxes checked and the bottom one is checked and greyed out to create a 3D file
But if I choose AVCHD and click on AVCHD (1920x1080) a box opens and if I select options, bottom box for Create a 3D file is checked EXCEPT you can choose Anaglyph or side-by-side. Obviously it would be side by side.
Same situation for Bluray under 3D. Need to know what makes one better than the others and correct one I should be using for rendering and burning to disc.
I just need to know with information given here (HDR-TD20V 3D camcorder) and using X6, which format best matches present video files and most efficient method of burning disc. I know under 3D, DVD, WMV would not do.
If I use the one with the greyed out 3D checked box, I'm assuming it will burn in 3D?
I guess what's confusing for me is how they have under MVC AVCHD and a couple lines up also have AVCHD. Trying to get true 3D video files burned onto disc instead of having side-by-side.
Burning with PlayMemories, it's a true 3D copy without side-by-side.
Glad you said something on menus. I thought I read that if you put 2D elements into 3D burned disc, renders disc 2D, may have read it wrong though. I do have both types of blank BD discs.
I will use re-writable probably for experimentation.
Any additional points more than welcomed and keep you updated with solutions. I know there are others out there with same software and equipment.

Re: Burning 3D videos with VideoStudioPro x6
GCL,
You want the AVCHD that is listed under MVC. That is what you need to create a multi-view encoding 3D Blu-ray disc. There are two video streams with full frames. This is the best format. People with 3D players will see the movie 3D, and people who don't have 3D players will see the movie in 2D. Only AVCHD allows for this MVC format as well as the regular format.
All the other choices under 3D, the ones not under MVC, will give you only one video stream, where each frame has a side-by-side or anaglyph image. You can create those with any type video format. Corel has those broken down to DVD, Blu-ray, AVCHD, and WMV. These videos will not be recognized as a "3D" movie on a Blu-ray disc when you stick them in your Sony player. They will seem like regular movies to the Sony player. Only YOU will know that they are anaglyph or side-by-side movies, unless your player as a feature that lets you tell it which format it is.

Re: Burning 3D videos with VideoStudioPro x6
Again, thanks for the insight. It's making sense to me now that you explained it. The PDF file for X6 states how to do it BUT not explaining in depth the details of each choice. I know there are others like myself asking the same questions.
Your answer is quite helpful. I'll be making menus and and so on and burn them disc to watch in 3D!
Thanks a bunch!

Re: Burning 3D videos with VideoStudioPro x6
Thank for all the information again but question on MPO pictures. Which selection is used when I add 3d pictures taken with Fuji3d camera. I imported the pictures but wonder (like the videos question) do I use 3D the MVC or what?
Trying to put 3D pictures on a Bluray disc to play in 3D Bluray player.
More details appreciated.
