Cant seem to create space between clips?

Using VS exclusively now, so here come all the quesitons....

I cant seem to "drag" a simple space between 2 clips on the same track. I wish to have a 5 second delay in between two clips....

you cannot have gaps in the top track - just drag a colour block (black?) down from the color library and insert it in the top track between the clips - set the duration of the colour block to the delay time you require.

spaces can exist on any of the overlay tracks - use one of those if you just want gaps in your videos.
