I wish to create my own title using my own background and chapter points. I have done this before in VS3 or VS4. I am fairly certain that the means of doing this was from 'Share'. This does not seem available in VS5 to which I have recently upgraded. I had a feeling that there was some way of doing this from HD Writer but this doesn't appear to be so.
Any help would be appreciated. Many thanks, Roy.

Re: Titling
What exactly do you mean by 'title' - sounds a little as though you mean a DVD menu which you do from 'Share >> Create disc' - - a title you would create in the timeline using the title option which you access by clicking on the large letter "T" just to the right of the preview screen.
but functions to create a DVD menu are identical between X4 and X5 so whatever you did in X4 you should be able to do in X5.
can you expand a little.

Re: Titling
A long time getting back to this, my apologies. I want to use my own photograph as a background to the title for the DVD that I wish to create. I have done this previously and managed to include chapters. My photograph replaced the whole of the title from the titles library so this did not appear at all. At present, when I create a DVD from the 'share' box a title from the titles library comes up on my replay of the DVD before the title that I have created in the timeline. I don't want this library title to appear at all. I wish to create my own title, using my own photograph as the background, so that it appears as the Video opens, and then the title in the timeline can appear afterwards.

Re: Titling
Again I am afraid I am not following what you want to do - or are doing - when you say title do you mean just at the start of your video - or do you mean a DVD menu
If you put your photo at the beginning of the video then put the title in the title track so that it looks like the image below does that do what you want to do?
But you keep talking about going through "Share >> Create Disc" - where do titles come into it there.
please try to explain more about what you want - maybe a picture or two

Re: Titling
Hi
And if you are referring to burning a disc, Share Create Disc DVD
Then you can select your own image.
From the second window choose the Gallery Tab, choose to create a Text Menu as those will allow you to view more of the background image
Now choose the “Edit tab”
Select the icon adjacent to “Background Image/video” tool tip is “set the background”
Browse the hard drive for your image.
The image you use will be best in 16:9 ratio as that will fill the screen, assuming your video is widescreen?
Otherwise like Brian I am a little confused with your explanation?

Re: Titling
Sorry if I appear to be obscure. I'm afraid that I can't show you a picture because I can't produce it. When I say a title I mean an opening screen using my own picture, not in the title bar but as a separate entity with selection points which when selected will take you to chapter points in the video. ie. chapter points are placed on the time line and using selections on the opening screen, which contains my own picture, will take you to various points on the video. I hope that this explains more precisely what I am attempting to do.
I seem to remember that there was a tutorial which showed this procedure.
