blocking or blurring out a face?

Post by bcat »

Is this possible with this software? I need it to "follow" the face as well, if anyone knows if it will do that. Thank you.

morning!!

im not 100% up to speed withe blocking of faces but you have do it by using the same video clip on the overlay track then applying the mosiac filter!

this filter is customizable so you'll have to tweak it to get what you want.

its all about choosing the area you want to obscure then you can keyframe it to follow the video! uncheck the fill colour box too!

you then must resize the clip in the overlay track to match position of the face!

i'll try to fathom it then let you know!!!

The *BEST* way to blur a face in VideoStudio is to go here :-

http://www.stagetools.com/

and purchase the plug-in called "Moving Parts"

One way to do this is to cut the clip where you want to blur the face Clip>Save as Still Image.

Then drag the image down to overlay track and add the Mosaic filter. Adjust the size and move the overlay frame over the face.

Save the newly formed Mosaic as another image, this way you'll have the same sized overlay to hide the face as the face moves.

When the face moves out of the hidden area, just drag and drop the newly formed Mosaic overlay and re-adjust the position of the overlay track to hide the face. repeat the above steps until the hidden face clip ends.

It's not as elegant as BrianCee's suggestion, but it works for me.

Hope this helps.

I forgot to add, as duffgnr said you'll have to edit the mosaic filter to how pixelated you want. (:
