(poor) Mouse Wheel performance in PSP X5?

Post by mounsey »

Hi there.

I am a _long_ standing User (and "fan") of Paint Shop Pro (right back from the Shareware / JASC days!)

Recently upgraded to a new high-spec PC (Windows 8 Pro, 24 gig RAM etc.)

I also decided it was time to leap from PSP X2 up to the latest version X5.

After a bit of a culture shock at first ("Tabbed documents" ?!? WTF?!?!), I am settling into X5 nicely - but with a few teething troubles.

One of the most trivial (on the face of it) - but also annoying is seemingly sluggish Mouse Wheel performance (my mouse hasn't changed - MicroSoft Intellimouse Optical model)

This is particularly bad when *Zooming* in and out of documents (using the Mouse Wheel).

In short, it is VERY slow (I have to "scroll" the wheel up/down a lot even for the image to Zoom a little - very frustrating!!)

I've tried changing Control Panel settings for the Mouse Wheel - but no impact (or so it would seem) - other than to make Mouse Wheel in *other* programs crazy fast / or too s-l-o-w.

Has anyone else on here encountered similar issues? Is there a way to speed up the "zooming"?

I'll post my other gripes on here in due course, but this is the most important one - really having a (negative) impact on my productivity :(

Thanks for reading,
John

I found that the microsoft mouse I had became unresponsive for many applications, so I switched to the Logotech gaming mouse.

It has three micro buttons on top affecting the sensitivity for mouse movement and the wheel is very sensitive.
