Re: proDAD bundle w/Video Studio X6
I've got exactly the same problem with Win 8 as described. I installed, uninstalled completely and reinstalled Video Studio ultimate X6 twice but the proDAD plugins ( Rotopen, Script, Vitascene) generate the same error as mentionned by koko3214 : "ProDAD Cannot find... "(see his screen capture for more details).
I sent an email to Corel support with details about the error and what I already did but the only answer I received up to now was to reinstall everything using a procedure mentionned in an article named : "How-to-remove-WordPerfect-Office-X6" !
Of course, I didn't follow this strange advice and I sent a new mail explaining once more that I had already uninstalled and reinstalled everything to no avail.
As other members, I suspect this has something to do with an incompatibilty with Windows 8 although the box clearly mentions : "Windows 8 Compatible".
If I receive more info from Corel I'll let you know.

Re: proDAD bundle w/Video Studio X6
Has anyone tried resetting the program to its defaults by deleting C:\Documents and Settings\[Your Name]\Application Data\Roaming\Ulead Systems\Corel VideoStudio Pro\16.0 folder? I assume there is a a similar folder in Win 8... With Win 7, this repopulates the library pane and gets the various plug-ins to appear and work -- at least in Win 7... Could be worth at least a try with Win 8...

Re: proDAD bundle w/Video Studio X6
I did a reset by deleting C:/users/|MyName]\AppData\Roaming\Ulead Systems\Corel VideoStudio Pro\16.0, which is the path in Win 8, but the only difference is that now I get an error message (see screen capture) immediately before the CVS starts. After clicking about ten times on OK, CVS starts as usual but after that, trying to use any of the three ProDad plugins still gives the same error message as before.Ken Berry wrote:Has anyone tried resetting the program to its defaults ...

Re: proDAD bundle w/Video Studio X6
Hi jan
The message as “Cannot Find C\program files ******** happened to me with my LenervoLaptop, to cut a long story short, the problem being my graphics driver, a windows update sorted that.
I am not saying you have the same problem but may be worth checking Windows Updates, the “Optional” section for me listed a Graphics Driver update.
Yes this was using Windows 7 on a brand new computer, but you would have thought it to be upto date.
I have to say that it is highly likely to be a ProDad W8 issue
Good luck

Re: proDAD bundle w/Video Studio X6
Hi Trevor,
Thanks for your suggestion but I already checked that after seeing one of your former post. I have got the latest Intel HD Graphics 4000 driver available for my GPU (confirmed by an automatic check on Intel website) I suspect some kind of incompatibility between CVS X6, ProDAD plugins and Win 8 x64. Among the 4 ProDAD plugins only Mercalli 2.0 seems to work normally without any error message. The latest advice from Corel support is to install service pack 1, what I did of course since the beginning.

Hi all,
FWIW: Just a thought that you've probably already done but...
The error message says it cannot find the file Vitascene20PluginSupport.dll. Can you find it in the directory where the error message says it should be? Also, it might be worth a try at this point to contact support at proDad instead of Corel: http://www.prodad.com/home/contact,l-us.html (this is for the US, other support locations might be available).

Re: proDAD bundle w/Video Studio X6
Hi Tommy,
Yes, the different dll's (in this case Vitascene20PluginSupport.dll) are all in the mentionned directories. As far as proDAD is concerned, they feel only fully responsible for their standalone software. Furthermore, as their plugins are working well with other Windows OS and Corel VideoStudio versions, the issue is not related to ProDAD but to the way Corel implemented their plugins in CVS X6 Under Windows 8 x64. A similar case was discussed in thread :

Hi,
I am having exactly the same problem with the proDAD plugins for Videostudio X6 on Windows 8 x64. Please let me know if there is any information that I can provide from my system which might help to resolve this

Re: proDAD bundle w/Video Studio X6
Hi Jan,
I don't see any mention on the ProDad website I looked at (I think they have more than one website) that mentions Win 8, only Win 7.
There is a way to tell if it is a Corel implementation problem or a ProDad Win 8 problem. First, make of copy of all the ProDad Folders that contain the plug-ins to some other location. Then, uninstall all the ProDad software you have installed. Next, download and install the trial version of Vitascene V2 LE from the ProDad website. If the trial version works ok you know that it's the Corel implementation and not a ProDad/Win8 problem.
If the trial version works ok, at this point it might be possible to use some of the original ProDad files you saved a copy of before the uninstall to make your trial version into a full version. You could try deleting the trial version plug-ins in whatever folder the trial version installed them to, and then replacing them with your original saved Corel plug-ins by simply copying them into that folder.
If that doesn't work, you can always uninstall the trial version and re-install the Corel version to get back to where you are now. But before the unistall of the trial version you can copy the contents of the Prodad folder in Program Files to some other location to use later.
After you re-install the Corel Prodad versions, you can compare the file Vitascene20PluginSupport.dll with the known good version from the trial (assuming the trial worked ok). If you don't know how to compare files, then just save the Corel version of the file somewhere else for safekeeping, and replace it with the one from the trial version. Then start Videostudio and see if it works.
If not, you've only lost some time, but you'll know for sure that it's Corel's problem and not a general problem with Prodad/Win8.

Re: proDAD bundle w/Video Studio X6
Hi Tommy,
I appreciate your aid and your suggestions to make this CVS X6 Pro Ultimate bundle working in my config.
However, I would like to say that I am using the different CVS versions since more than ten years. Each time I upgrade to the latest CVS version but, of course, in this lapse of time I also upgraded my hardware (myself) and my OS (do you remember Windows 3.11?), trying allways to be up to date because computers and video are two of my main hobbies. I am happy to be retired now, so I have more time to spend to my hobbies
From time to time I am experiencing some problems, not only with Corel, but at the end, with the help of other people on Internet I allways manage to find a solution.
For this issue I have spent a lot of time trying different tricks, more than I can explain here.
In the Corel ProDad bundle there are 4 plugins ; Mercalli 2, Vitascene 2 and the 2 Heroglyph plugins : Route and Script. Of those 4 plugins, only one : Mercalli Stabilization is working well. The other generate the well-known errors.
The first time you install CVS X6, only the Vitascene error appears before the programs starts. After clicking about 10 times on OK the error message disappears but trying to use any of the 4 plugins results in a specific error message and none of them are working.
I read everything on the Prodad website. You are right when saying that they do not explicitly mention Vitascene working under Windows 8 but they do with the 3 others.
Knowing whether it is ProDAD's fault or Corel's fault is not my problem. When Corel is selling a software with a version ("Ultimate") that is more expensive because it contains extra plugins and mentions "Windows 8 compatible" why should I verify this after my purchase and not Corel before they sell their product?
This being said, may be I'll try what you said, one of these days but it will not help me any further...
Anyway, thanks to all those who are trying to help me and all others who have the same problem. Please accept my apologies for my broken English which is only my 3th language.

Re: proDAD bundle w/Video Studio X6
To all,
Just a few words to say that i have tested the available standalone trial software of ProDAD (Heroglyph) and, yes, it's working Under Win 8 x64 without any problems on my computer. As far as my contacts with Corel support are concerned, the last thing they asked me about the issue was to provide them wit a screen shot of the error message, which I did once more. I'll let you know if there are other developments. I would be interested to know if there are some people who did manage to have all CVS X6 ProDAD plugins fully working under Win 8 x64?

Have the Prodad and other plug-in problems in VS6 Ultimate under Windows 8 64 bit been solved with SP1? Thank you.

Re: proDAD bundle w/Video Studio X6
No SP1 didn't solve anything for me. I saw in a previous post some Corel plugins were to be installed and I can't find those files at all on my system. I am running Windows 8 Pro. I can't even see the Mercalli option in my filters section of X6. I'm going to call customer support and see what I can figure out.
