Cannot Install Certain Menu Packs or Title Packs

Hello All!
I am using VideoStudio Pro Ultimate 6 and it offers me certain Menu Packs and Title Packs, but when I try to install I get the message "Installed Version of the application could not be determined. Setup will terminate". All of the single Title packs install without a hitch, but several of the packages will not. At a lost of how to troubleshoot this and wonder have others here experienced anything similar or same. I was thinking because I upgraded from Version 4 ultimate and never got 5 because I got Mercalli and ProDad with the Ultimate upgrade in Version 4, that maybe it is looking for version 5. Other than that supposition, I am at a lost. Any info will be appreciated. Thanks in advance and be well.

There was an issue with the Do-More downloads providing X5 files instead of X6.

Corel have fixed this problem, the older Do-More contained 76 items, Corel now provide 115 (at my last count) for both X5 and X6
I did have reason to install X6 again and the initial Do-More seemed to be the old 76 version at least initially, this refreshed itself within a few days to the 115 list.

Are you using the trial version or the purchased version.?
Can you tell us how many items you see in the Do-More list?
If 115 are you able to download the files again?
Which files are you unable to install, I assume just the two Menu Packs?

Thanks for the response. When you mention 76 vs 115, are you counting the items listed under the ALL category? Not sure what you are counting and yes it is the Menu Packs and The Title Packs that are giving me the message above. Not sure why this is occurring and if Corel fixed this, please share what the fix was. Many thanks for all replies.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that I am using the purchased version installed from the disc and not a download. Hoe this helps! Be well.

Hi

I was referring to the Do-More-templates tab.
The first entry should be a “bonus content” file, there are also two Menu packs that increase the galleries when burning a disc.
The remainder are “Instant project” templates, approximately 115 items.

Once installed downloads are no longer available.
Are you able to download the Menu Packs again?

We need to confirm that you have downloaded the correct version for X6
The downloads are saved here
C:\ProgramData\Corel\Downloads
The menu packs are called “DoMore_Menu_02”
I see mine in a folder here
C:\ProgramData\Corel\Downloads\540230539_807001\1350939459517, not very descriptive.
Within this folder is a dim_params.xml file, open this in “notepad”
The text should show http://www.corel.com/akdlm/6763/downloa ... enu_02.exe as the download link
note it refers to X6, if you see X5 then you have the wrong file.
By the way the link above should download the Menu 2 file for X6

Thanks Trevor for the quick response. Unfortunately, I am not home to look into my computer program files to check, but will do so upon returning home on Tuesday. Just for the record, I never had VS 5; it came out just as I had bought the Ultimate version of VS 4 along with the plug-ins ProDad & Mercalli, so I just skipped to Version 6 Pro Ultimate when it became available. Didn't see the necessity of getting VS 5, at the time because it came out one month after the upgrade to VS 4 Ultimate with the additional plug-ins. So Brian's post with the workarounds of copying VS 5's templates into VS 6 would not work for me since I never had VS 5. Thanks Brian for the info nonetheless. Be well.

Okay Trevor!
Had a chance to view the folders and files you mentioned in your earlier post. When I go to C:\Program Data\Corel\Downloads, there are 4 folders label 0, 4, 3 & 1 each containing different files and when I check the dim_params.xml file and open them some refer to Paint shop Pro (which I also have on my hard drive) or VideoStudio X5 and not X6. So you may be correct that I do not have the right file; but what is more puzzling is that I never upgraded to Version X5; I went from VS X4 Pro Ultimate to X6. So why I have X5 files is puzzling because I installed X6 from the disc that I purchased last month. Someone said this issue was fixed and I would love to be directed to the fix or do I need to uninstall X6 Ultimate and re-install it again in hopes it picks up the correct file. Any help will be greatly appreciated so that I can take full advantage of the version of X6. Thanks in advance and be well.

BTW I followed the link in your post for the Menu Pack and it installed without a glitch. Puzzling!!! Why the others won't find the program means it must be looking for X5 files or program...I guess!

As we mentioned after releasing Video Studio X6 Corel had a problem with the Download site in that some items downloaded X5 versions of the files. Corel did fix this problem and as far as I know users should be getting the correct downloads.
Afaik the instant Project templates were not a problem as they were common to X5 and X6.

There is a strange issue that the full download web pages are not immediately available for new users, we have found that waiting a few days cured this as the Do-More downloads were refreshed, I haven’t a clue why that was happening. That is the reason fro asking about the quantity you see.

By the way you have registered the program to your Corel account?

I recently installed the trial version and was given 2 download options, after re-starting Video a few times the list was 76ish, now I have re-installed the full version and I have 115 available.

Within the same folder structure as the Download folder is a Message folder, maybe the wrong Message has been given to you, deleting the Messages may allow it to receive the correct one. Maybe move them to your desktop?
Difficult to say which one as they all have odd names?

Re-Installing the program will also empty the messages for that program.

Thanks again Trevor for the response. Yes I registered the product as soon as I got it, even before I installed the software. Just like having all my registrations on file with Corel. I think I will try to uninstall and re-install over the weekend to see if I have better luck in getting the correct file(s). I have used the program and completed a few assignments and everything seems to work okay; but I still would like to have all of the extra content in case I want to get a little creative. If the re-install does not fix the problem, I will post back. Even if it does I will still post back to the forum. In the meantime, if you see or hear of anything similar to my issue please do not hesitate to post it. I visit the Forum daily when I am not on the road and sometimes even then, so I will see your response. Thanks again and as always be well.

Okay! I uninstalled Pro Ultimate X6 using Revo-Uninstaller which cleans the registry as well for all uninstalled programs, rebooted the computer to clear everything, re-installed Pro Ultimate X6 again and I still cannot install the Title Packs nor the Menu Packs from the Do More downloads. I am still able to install the 2 Menu Packs from the links above without a hitch. Is there a place on Corel's website where you can get the Title Packs and the Menu Packs without going through Do More? If there is such a place, could I be directed there to install the missing packs please? Uninstalling and re-installing is not getting me the right files so if I cannot get a link to the packs, I will just do without them. it is a shame that all Corel's products have cooperated with my software from back to VS 2, I believe was the first one and I never had this issue before. Well I guess you have to count the blessings that this never happened until now. I can use the software without the packs, but it would be nice to have access to everything that comes with it whether you ever use it or not. Ok

Lets deal with the Menu Packs, there are two packs one installs additional menu templates for DVD menus, the other for Bluray and Avchd.

Go to Share Create Disc—DVD
Go to Share Create Disc -–AVCHD

Tell us how many templates are available for Avchd
Then how many available for DVD – Thumbnail menus, (I see 33 Thumbnail menus)

Video Studio should be installed and run in User Administrator.
Does your computer account have full admin rights.
Right click the VideoStudio icon on the desktop and Run as Administrator

Do the same for the DoMore_Menu_02 file

I have already provided the direct links for the two menus in my previous posts,
so what hitch are you having in installing the menu packs.

Hello Trevor! You must have misread my post...there is NO problem with the links you provided. They install without a hitch. I will try your suggestions and get back to you with the results. Just as an aside, I noticed when some of the templates that did install, when they were unpacked mentioned VS 5 and not 6. I will get back to you shortly. Many thanks for your patience.
