iPhone video causing VS10 Plus to crash

Hello. I've just got an iPhone 4S and shot a test video to edit. However, when I load it and try to create a file, VS10+ crashes every time within a few seconds.

All I'm doing is trying add a few simple titles with the output file being 'same as project settings' so the output should be mpg4, PAL, 720 x 576. This is the first time I've tried editing iPhone video and I've never had this problem with any stuff that I've edited in the past.

Has anyone any idea what's happening and how I can rectify the situation. Thanks.

I am pretty sure you will find that VS 10 is just too old to handle the format of video coming out of the iPhone. I believe the latter is some flavour of AVCHD high def mpeg-4, and VS10 was developed before AVCHD was even 'invented'. In other words, the only solution would be to upgrade to software which can handle high def footage.

Well, I suppose my obvious answer would be Video Studio's current version X6. But download the trial version which you can use for 30 days, and make sure you you can edit your video. (I can certainly do so with the AVCHD footage from my Samsung Galaxy SIII smartphone... )
