See if this topic helps.

Keep in mind it deals with editing the registry. Even though it's small, be careful.

I have tried this

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Corel\Paint Shop Pro\13\Installer

But when I look into the registry, the "PAINT SHOP PRO" part is not there, so I can't go any further. I don't know if it has to do with X2 version versus X3 version or not. I have the X2 version.

Ah, I forgot that was for X3. Yes, in general, the registry keys will be different from program to program. And they really started making some big changes with X3 and even larger ones on to X4 and X5.

As I no longer have X2 installed on my system I can't go looking to see where it might be.

-----

There is one option that is recommended every now and again.

Uninstall PSPX2.

Inside WIndows create a new administrator account. THis will only be a temporary account.

Log in under this account and install PSP.

Log back into your account and see if PSP loads up properly. Then go ahead and remove the temporary account you just created.

It's a bit wacky, I know, but worth a try I suppose.

I tried the new administrator and re-install of PSPX2. Now I get a message that says program can't start because CoreGUL.dll is missing from computer. I tried re-installing again as suggested but didn't work. I'm lost. But I really thank you for all your help.
