I am trying to create a Photo Slideshow in VideoStudio Pro x6 - during the editing preview or when I try to share the program crashes with an unspecified error. The original project was 8 Minutes and the preview would crash at about the four minute mark. I thought it was possibly the length of the project so I tried split the number of photos in two and put half into a project that previewed and exported fine, dropped the other half in a second project that would then crash at random spots in the preview process. Tried deleting several of the photos, thinking maybe the format of the photos, but that did not help. I am stumped - is there a know error in the creation of photo slideshows by any chance? I have tried this on two different laptops, one windows xp the other windows 7.

As a note, I was originally attempting this in studio 11, which I own and it was doing the same thing. I downloaded x6 thinking it might fix the issues because of better compression, etc. I would like to purchase x6, I love the interface and ease of use and built in effects, but I can see having to do many of these types of projects and would like to be sure that it will function properly.

Re: VideoStudio Pro x6 random unspecified error
I quite regularly make slideshows in VideoStudio without any problems at all and all of them will have 100 - 200 photos so it is not the number which is a problem.
tell us about the photos you are using - what format and type are they - where did they originate from.
are you using any transitions between the photos - which ones ?

Most if not all of the photos are from a digital camera. All .jpg format. I have deleted several of the files thinking it was a particular file or type, but no help. I originally had transitions and pan / zoom effects, but have recreated with no effects at all and still get a random crash every time. Very bizzarre.

Re: VideoStudio Pro x6 random unspecified error
Hi
I to create image slide shows containing lots of images without problems.
Jpeg images can be Baseline or Progressive, some software has problems using Progressive types.
Right click a clip in the timeline and select properties, the Jpeg tab will show the Encoding mode.
I would however think they being from a digital camera would use Baseline.
Test images from all sources, Editing in photoshop and saving may use progressive?
