I am so disappointed with Corel./ I have had pro x3 for a while and I have updated my PC's a few times (I do that often). However it keeps telling me this has happened too many times and I have phoned/emailed/fbooked the company to no avail. No one reacts to anything and I was on hold for 20 mns before I cut off.
This kind of "backing" means although I would be happy to upgrade I will look elsewhere unless someone can come back to me pronto and give me an activation code for what I have. I know I have had this for a while but it is still cash I did pay for something I cannot use any longer and the lack of response in an age where online chat etc is freely available is quite shocking.
Disappointing.

Re: REINSTALLATION PROBLEMS
I am sorry you are having so many problems. X3 is a bit "old hat" now. Would it not be better to upgrade to X5 (with your current PC setup) where there would be more support?
I use X6 but I bought a new computer with a higher spec than my (much missed!!) XP machine to handle the more demanding programes.

I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not so sure.
Re: REINSTALLATION PROBLEMS
Yes probably, but to be honest it is just the fact that I would like this reactivated.... and cannot seem to get anyone to react.
If I am going to have to pay for something then I may just go for Powerlink or someone else, purely based on the fact that support is hard to get to! I am a big fan of chat on line facilities and I am amazed this does not exist here... Thanks for you reply anyway!

Re: REINSTALLATION PROBLEMS
Hi
I have re-installed video studio many times and have never received that message.
There have been other posts relating to the same issue, but as I said I never have a problem, kiss of death I suppose.
I do not know exactly what software files you have so…..
Are you installing the trial version then activating or are you installing the purchased download/boxed version, then you would insert the serial number during installation.
Once installed the Corel Guide also requests a registration, this is usually the e-mail address of your Corel account.
Also are you installing the upgrade that requires a serial number of a previous program
Are you using the Boxed Version or Download, you cannot use the Boxed versions serial number to activate a downloaded version.
Can you access your Corel account to view your registered products, there you will find your products serial numbers.
This all seems a little strange to me?

Re: REINSTALLATION PROBLEMS
I have uninstalled and reinstalled from the original install download. No difference it gives me 30 days and when I try to activate it tells me I am over the amount of times allowed.
I can access the account and the serial no is the same.
So if it seems strange to you Trevor imagine how I feel!

Re: REINSTALLATION PROBLEMS
I am not sure why you are beating yourself up about this. I understand why you are annoyed that X3 will not load but is it worth the hassle? If you want to change from VS then do so. Everybody has their favourite bit of software. I moved to VS X5 from Pinnacle Studio simply because Studio was so "buggey" that I just got fed up with it not working when I needed it.
The sad fact of life is that software and hardware grow together so a new computer means that I cannot run my old favourites. Example:- I liked Lotus Office running on Windows 98, it would just run on XP but NOT on 7 - in the bin.
You said you have updated your PC. Is X3 now viable on your "new" PC?
Just a thought.

Re: REINSTALLATION PROBLEMS
Hi
So you are installing the TBYB file.
When you purchased the program you should have received a download link for the program, and maybe an extra contents file, that would depend on the size of the program file.
Maybe called VSX3_Pro_PF.exe or something similar at 1.2 Gb ish would be a single file.
Installing that would NOT show the 30 day limit, you would enter the serial number during the installation and it should install without problems.
