Hi!
I just recently started having problems with my PSP Photo XI program on my laptop. The other day it would start up and run normally, but the next day when I went to run the program, it wouldn't start. My computer would freeze up and show this error message: "The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000006). Click OK to terminate the applicaion."
I tried turning off my computer and running the program again, but the same thing came up. I tried to run the repair program on it, nothing. I even tried to uninstall PSP XI to no avail as I got a different error message: "Internal Error 2328 C:\Program Files\Corel\Corel Paint Shop Pro XI\CoreErrorCodesRC.dll"
I even looked around Corel's website for help, but found nothing. I really don't know what to do, short of just completely resetting my laptop back to factory settings and starting fresh. But even then I don't know if that would fix the problem.
I wish I knew why the program decided to just stop working one day, as I haven't downloaded anything and my anti-virus is up to date.
My computer is a Dell XPS M1710, and it runs Windows XP SP3.
Thanks!

Re: PSP XI error messages
It seems that one of the first thing people do when they have a problem with PSP is to uninstall and reinstall.
There are a number of other things that can be tried first and unfortunately they are scattered over many threads in the forums.
Things like doing a reset of preferences , Resetting program to factory default, .
Sometimes these problems may be due to a microsoft update.
Different ways of starting the program, changes to Active X.
I really wish there was a thread on what to do from simplest to more complex. reinstalling would have to be further down the list rather than a first or second option.
You could try installing on another computer to see if your installation version has not been damaged.

I don't have another computer to try and install it on. I tried looking at the user guide, but there isn't anything listed for troubleshoooting.hartpaul wrote:You could try installing on another computer to see if your installation version has not been damaged.

Re: PSP XI error messages
Hi
I use Video Studio and there have been some problems with a Browser Manager associated with Internet Explorer, don’t know why that should affect the program anyway, but some just cannot start the program????
I did a search on the Knowledge Base for CoreErrorCodesRC.dll and found this info relating to internet add-ons, maybe worth a read.
PaintShop Pro X4 - Faulting module name: MSVCR90.dll, version

Re: PSP XI error messages
I tried looking at the knowledge base and tried changing some of the add-ons I thought might've been the cause of PSP not working, but it didn't help. I'm quickly losing hope here. Wouldn't it just be better (and easier) if I reset my computer back to factory settings?
