Video Studios x6 ultimate

Post by ZrowTallerance1 »

I am currently using the trial verison. I was planning on purchasing the software but it seems to crash everytime I try to load a video. I thought this was supose to work with windows 7. Support is poor at best. Tells me to send some dump file which is in a folder that does not exist on my PC. And yes I know how to locate a file, I build computers. The concept is great and you would think by version 6 it would run better.

I am trying to load a MP4 video and edited it. If I can get it to play it jumps all over the place looks like its lagging. Is this file type not supported? I have searched all over the net and found tons of people with the same problem yet no one as of yet has a solution.

I really do like the software wish it worked. Anyone have any suggestion where I can get some help???

Just can't see paying $100 for software with no support.

For those of you wondering its not my PC.

2 1tb hard drives
Windows 7 professional
EVGA SuperClocked 03G-P4-2666-KR GeForce GTX 660 3GB 192-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card
Asus Sabertoothe 990FX mother board
AMD FX 8350 8 core processor
32 gigs of ram

I just can't believe my system can't handle the software.

Thanks to anyone that can point me to some help.

Like I said before, I really do want to use the software.

Update.....

I uninstalled V6 and installed V5 tried to play a MP4 video. V5 crashed also. I tried changing the setting on my graphics card and CPU nothing worked. Then I had an idea. I converted my file to AVI ( lost the clear crisp look, but still doesn't look that bad). Re ran V5 and it works like a charm. You can get a free video converter at this link. It's what I use http://www.freemake.com/free_video_converter/ never had a problem. Obviously this is a temporary fix. hopefully they get the bug worked out soon. But in the mean time, convert your file to AVI and it will work. at least it has so far.

on a side note V5 and V6 are not compatable with windows 7 64. When I start the program it kicks my settings down to windows 7 32bit so it doesnt have color issues. This may be part of the problem.

Hmmm pepegota

We did not say you did have a problem, but some do……….may be I should have explained……

Corel no longer install QuickTime with Video Studio X6, the program does need Quicktime to run properly. They may however install it with X5, cannot remember?

In addition there have been instances of the latest versions of QuickTime causing problems, reverting to an earlier version has been known to cure these problems.

Another option would be to re-name the files extension from MP4 to Mov, that also has been a cure for some users?
