Can't capture using Hauppauge WinTv Pvr2 USB
I am using trying to use Moviefactory 3 with a Hauppauge WinTv Pvr2 USB. The WinTv device works fine on its own but it is not recognised by Moviefactory. When I select the WinTV as the source for capture I just get an error message saying “Failed to connect to driver Hauppauge WinTv Pvr USB2 Encoder”. Has anybody any ideas please or will this device never work with Moviefactory.
Check out this page for updates and patches.

Make sure you download the update for USB devices not PCI. I haven't used it personally. I prefer to capture with the native WinTV software and import into DMF.

Personally, with any capturing, I like to use the native capture software or capture utilities written specifically for the capture card but that is a personal preference. It usually contains extra items that you can tweak.
I never bothered to set up my PVR250 to capture in Ulead so I don't know if it offers the same flexibility.
If you go to the SHS forum and the main website there is a lot of info regarding user written utilities as well. Also a great resource for troubleshooting the Hauppauge cards.
