No files shown in folder tree in MANAGE
I've downloaded new jpg picture files twice over the last 2 months. When I open PSPro X5 in MANAGE mode the new file folders names show on the folder tree but no picture files show in the Organizer photo tray when the folder is selected. Folders on tree before the 2 latest display pictures okay. I have no ability to select photos to edit from the MANAGE mode in those latest folders. Folders and photos appear normally in EXPLORER.

Re: No files shown in folder tree in MANAGE
It sounds to me that there could be a problem with the files you downloaded. Reboot PSPX5 and see if they show, other than that I have no idea why they don't show especially if all other images are showing okay.

Re: No files shown in folder tree in MANAGE
The picture files in those folders can be accessed in the EDIT mode by using FILE,OPEN. Also they are present in the folders when brought up in other programs so I don't think the files are damaged. It's as if PSPro won't update it's database of files to include these new files in the folders even though it sees the folders themselves. I even tried copying the files to a newly created folder. Once again the folder appears on the FOLDER TREE in the PSPro MANAGE mode but the folders appear to be empty. I even removed and reinstalled the PSPro X5 hoping that would cause it to correctly recreate it's database of files but the result was the same.

Re: No files shown in folder tree in MANAGE
I can offer a few suggestions but guarantee nothing. The first one is a "just to be sure" kind of thing. I don't expect your problem to be related to those settings at all.
------------
Open your General Preferences dialog.
This probably has nothing to do with your problem but it's worth a look before the next two options.
Go to the Manage section and click on the "uncataloged folders" button really quick. Make sure either your folders or the folder they are in aren't listed for any reason. Like I said this is probably a pointless step as I doubt they would be listed at all.
If they are of a different format at all from the other images you can also look at the file format exclusions. But I highly doubt that's the issue.
------------------
These next options will work on deleting or restoring the database file itself.
------------
Close PSP. Go to the Start menu, under the PSP folder you should see a "Restore Database" option. Click this and it'll ask if you want to restore the database. Say yes. Does this fix the issue?
-----------
Close PSP. Then open PSP while holding the Shift key, it'll ask if you want to restore PSP to factory defaults. This should, also restore the database. Obviously, only use if necessary as you lose any workspace edits that you've made.
Does this fix the issue?
-----------
If none of those work, delete the database file manually.
Open up your folder view (Windows Explorer) and type this into the address bar.
C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Corel PaintShop Pro\15.0\Database
You'll see an ImageDB.db file. Delete it.
Open PSP and it should create a new one for you.

Re: No files shown in folder tree in MANAGE
I had already tried to restore and/or recreate the database file and it did not work. I was unable to find the database file location so that I could do what you suggested to force a new database file. I decided it was worth losing the other tag info., etc and renamed the old DB file then started up PSPro. It worked and did recreate the file and the missing files are now appearing in the folder tree and the photos are in the tray. Thanks for the tip.
However I have another annoying problem. The icons in the layers pallete are messed up. The program seems to be displaying icons from the Organizer tray even though the tool tip shown when you hover on the icon is the correct one. For example, in the layer pallete, the icon showing for Edit Selction is the same one for Apply Editing in the Organizer tray. The only correct icons are for the New Layer Group, Delete Layer and General Preferences. Any thoughts on this problem? I have already tried an uninstall/reinstall on the program and that did not fix it.

Re: No files shown in folder tree in MANAGE
That sounds like a workspace file issue. If the workspace information is corrupted then sometimes icons will show up in the wrong places. ANd uninstalling may not help if the values aren't removed as part of the uninstaller.
This is where resetting the workspace to factory defaults comes in. You will lose any configurations you've made to the program but it should forceably reset all of the values to the standard default values and correct this issue.

And once you do get your workspace as you like it save it and then also make a backup copy of the workspaces folder and save it elswhere.
