Help with time lapse autofocus mistake

Post by schwizer »

I have a 30 day trial of VS Pro X6 and in my first time lapse attempt i made the mistake of leaving the auto focus on. I did catch it about halfway through but now i have 2 hours of pictures which are all just slightly different and this creates a shaky effect. Any easy way to fix this in VS Pro X6? I did search the forums for time lapse stabilize and could not get a result. I also tried the active camera and anti-shake filter with no results.

Help appreciated.

The anti-shake in VS Pro is close to useless, you will probably need VS Ultimate with the bonus pack. X5 Ult has Mercalli anti-shake, which kind-of works - it removes most shake except for occasional large jerks -. Don't know about X6 Ult, maybe they have fixed the jerks.

This had a lot of shake, maybe a relative still Time Lapse won't jerk.

Schwizer,

You could give VirtualDub with Deshaker a try.

Thank you for the responses. Since i'm only on a trial of the software, I was rather hoping that the software contained this functionality. I would prefer not having to install two more programs. My current workaround is uploading the finished video to YouTube which then does an excellent job of stabilizing the video and then i download it again. Not real elegant but it works for me.

You can download the trial for X6 Ultimate and it will run for the remaining days left on X6 Pro
