Corel VideoStudio X5 Uninstall Tool?

Post by mike20021969 »

Does anyone have a link for this tool (if it's available).

I can see a manual uninstall procedure...

http://corel.force.com/index/articles/e ... dio-Pro-X5

...but feel a tool would be not prone to making an error.

Hi.

That could explain it.

I did try right-clicking>Save As in numerous browsers but the file won't (as yet) download (using Firefox 20.0.1, Opera 12.15 and Chrome 26.0.1410.64 too).

I'll keep my eye on it through the day to see if I can download it at some point.

Thanks.

Mike,

I have just e-mailed the file to you - it is just a fraction over 500Kb.

If your antivirus system blocks it - as it is an exe - I'll send it again with a different extension that you can change back.

FWIW, I had no difficulty just now in downloading the cleanup tool from the above link by left clicking on it...

Whilst waiting after I'm made my original post here, I decided to send an e-mail to Corel asking if they could direct me to an uninstall tool for VSX5.

I've just received a response which I'm amazed by. Here's a quote...

"Thank you for contacting Corel Customer Support.

There's no removal tool for VideoStudio X5 but what I can suggest is these steps on how to manually remove it:"

...and then a link to the page I posted on post #1.

I'm flummoxed as to why Corel don't know about a tool they made

Hi Mike

I did notice that the Corel Knowledge base had changed and they were no longer providing the “Clean-up tool” Instead a comprehensive list of how to do it manually.
I guess that’s their policy now.

The link we provided is probably no longer freely available.

And indeed Corel are updating the Knowledge Base

Personally I would run through the manual removal process just to make sure things have not been missed by the Clean-Up tool
