unable to burn DVD

Post by JTW »

ADMIN NOTE this post has been split off from the topic "VSX5 Stops a second or 2 from end of project? " as it is clearly NOT the same problem.

Brian Cee

I had this exact same problem.

Except, with mine, I couldn't create DVD disk, or, couldn't create video file either. It would go to about 99% & then hang the system for hours (until stopped with Task Manager).

I had installed all of the updates, including SP2. I've uninstalled today & I will re-install in the next day or so to see if it works.

I will continue to watch this thread.

Thanks,

Todd

Re: unable to burn DVD

Hi Todd

And welcome to the forums.
Certainly looks different even with the limited details…….

Please Read this before posting

Will help us to understand your problem, knowing what version of video studio would also help?

You say you are trying to burn a dvd, well in order to burn the disc the project has to be converted to a Mpeg2 video file. This can be done in the burner module, but when having problems it is best to do from the edit timelines.

Open your project, I assume you are intending to burn a Standard DVD.

Give us some details of your video files,
Right click a clip in the timeline and select properties, what are they?
Now try Share Create Video File –DVD, this will/should convert the project to a Mpeg2 video file, are you able to do that successfully?

However you say you cannot do this as it also fails.
Tell us what type of clips you have added to the timelines.
For instance please say if you have added VSP’s, known as nesting?
