VS Pro X4 saving clip after applying filter(s)
After trimming a clip I can save it by File - Save trimmed clip. But if I use filter(s) with trimming before, after or no trimming, the File - Save trimmed clip greys out and I could not find any instruction how to save (render) the clip.

"File - Save" does not save the video but only the project file which can be considered a road map on what to do with your project. It will have the extension vsp and contains no video at all.
If you want to create a new video which includes you edits then you have to use the "Share" option and then select "create video file"

I think canuck has mis-understood your question - there is a difference between "File >> Save" which is what he is talking about and "File >> Save trimmed Video" which is what you are talking about.
In order to save a trimmed clip you must first select the clip you want to save in the timeline - that is it must have the yellow lines all round it showing you have selected it.

I did select the clip on the time line (yellow lines). If I just trimmed the clip, in File -> "Save trimmed clip" works, it saves the clip under a new file name. But when I use any of the Filters along with trimming or no trimming, the File -> "Save trimmed clip" does not work, it is greyed out. I am aware of the Save command (.vsp file) but this is not that case.

Hi
To combine the filter to the video clip you have to use the Share Create Video File option.
If the clip is the only one in the timeline there is no problem, however if it is in the middle of other clips you can set the Project Playback Range, then from the Save Video File window click the options button and choose Preview Range.
A video being created of the selected range.
Most users would complete the project editing then render the lot in one go, I assume you have your reasons.
