Uninstall VS X5/no corel listed under uninstall progs.?

HI, I thought than go to the other thread this may be easier.
IN the last thread I said that Tech support told me to do the same thing I have done
twice about resetting VS.

Rather than wait again, I thought I would uninstall it from W8, when I right click and go uninstall it takes me to the uninstall
programs. Alas, the only problem is that Corel or Ulead is not listed under the uninstall programs.
I go into the Corel folder and look for an executable uninstall. I guess they must name it something else?
Appreciate the help, well tech support seemed to stop turning their wheels.

Normally, when you try to (re)install the program, it checks to see if the same version is already there, and comes up with a message saying it will uninstall that current version. You could try that. I don't have Win 8 so can't think why it would not be there. On Win 7 it is listed under C for Corel...

I guess I am getting all kinds of weird things, I think the reason that I can't get the disc to re-install or the update to re-install because it is not listed under the remove programs. When I put the disc in
I get the usual screen asking me what I want to do, I click install, get a little blip then nothing.
I am sure the uninstall regardless of what version for windows would be the same name in the corel folder? As I said it use to be so simple, it was called uninstall.
If I don't find out this evening, we shall see what tech support has to say in the morning.

FWIW, I have just looked at X4 and X5 under Program Files, and neither appears to have an Uninstall.exe either. But both are listed under the 'Programs and Features' of Win 7 (where you go to remove them).

Now that is good to know. I can't install over them, and I can't seem to uninstall them. Going to have to get inventive I guess.

Well, I guess you might simply have to use regedit (if it's a part of Win 8 ) and remove all refs to X5 from the Registry. Could be a long day!!!

Microsoft has a Mr. Fixit for removing remnants of failed uninstallations. It might work for VideoStudio installations.

Though when I go to the not listed
it ask me for a Product code that is listed in those funny bars.
Now if I look on the page for the manual removal it has several of them.
