Background for chapter menu

Post by jparnold »

Although I have been using x12 for some time I have never created a chapter menu before.

Even though I select "select a background image for all menus" when I do a 'preview' then select the video to play the background image remains displayed briefly and then the chapter menu fades in with a light blue background (not the background image I selected for all menus).

Is it possible to set the background for the 'chapter menu' and if so how?

Also how can I CHANGE the displayed "chapter 1", "chapter 2" etc to something more meaningful?

Thanks
John a

I have found that strange things like that happen if you have different templates for the main menu and the chapter menu - say you have a thumbnail on the main menu and text for the chapters - or just a different thumbnail menu between main and chapters - the change for all menus doesn't seem to work correctly - so I have always set the chapter menu background exactly the same way as I set the main menu background - that is to change the menu editing window to show the chapter menu (by means of the small drop down immediately under the preview window) and then using the background image/video change option that I used for the top menu - I have never noticed any difference when changing from main to chapter when previewing the menu when I do that even with different templates.

You have two choices in changing the text "Chapter 01" etc - either double click on the text which takes you straight into text edit mode - OR - click on the text to highlight it (you can also move the text in this situation) - then RIGHT click and choose 'Edit' which again puts you in text edit mode.

note that under the right click option you can also change font attributes - font/colour/size.

Hi Brian
Thanks for your quick reply.
I just went back into my (create dvd) menu project and saw the menu selection for edit (ie currently displayed menu and drop down menu).
Don't know how I missed it before (or that I had forgotten that it existed).
It's been 12 months since I last created a menu plus it is not displayed well (not enough contrast) for me to notice easily.
Thanks again
John
