I have to say that it is unusual for Corel to provide any fixes/patches for older versions, so once X6 was released there would be no more patches for X5, at least that’s how I understood it to be.

Why not? Many of us PAID for X5! If it requires patches, then Corel should be obligated to providing them. Not just one simple, minor patch after it was first released, then throughout the remaining year ignore users forever after that for the "paid-for" product! Are we to expect that anything we purchase from Corel then becomes a "disposable product" to be thrown into the garbage can?

well I did not ask that, it was just my understanding of the Patches and Updates.
Clearly I am wrong and Corel do provide updates for the older program.
