VideoStudio X5 Service Pack 2
When I started VideoStudio X5 yesterday, I got a message saying that a software update, Service Pack 2, was available. I successfully loaded the update, but I can't find any information on the patch. Does anyone know what is in it?

Yes the same happened to me - and like you I cannot find any reference to service pack 2 on the Corel website - my version number now reads 15.2.0.10
Also when I fired up X4 a couple of days ago I received update service pack 3 for that it installed and my version number for X4 now reads 14.3.#.# there is no information on that on the Corel Website either.
It looks as though Corel are not announcing the release of service packs now.

According to the information I received, Service Pack 3 for X4 has a fix for Facebook uploading failure issues and a fix for the library linkage error.

I did have a small screen appear before I installed it. There is no mention of SP2 on the UK site so I guess it is available in the USA.
I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not so sure.

X5 SP2 what does it do….
There was a problem with the libraries Samples when installing multiple versions of Video Studio.
For example some clips showing in the X5 libraries would be using X4 files,
also some decorations were associated with X2.
Not a problem as they were installed on the pc, most users would not have noticed the difference. You can check the libraries clips locations before installing the patch,
The problem was identified just prior to the Beta X6 testing, X6 also had the same problem, but was fixed during the beta tests in time for its release.
Corel have now provided a fix for X5 and I assume X4 although I cannot find that download for X4 at the moment.
I guess if we give Corel a little time the Update Patch will be included on their web site.
There is no problem as all users will be able to update via the program.

I have my download preferences set to "Automatically download free product updates and notify me before installing" - so I did not see that pop-up saying that an update was available and telling me what it was and asking if I wanted to download - just a request to install service packs with no info.

I go to the Corel Guide, check for updates that gives me a message something about improving stability in VSX5, the option to Click Here opens the window I posted earlier.
My download preferences are the same, but I think I hit the Check for Updates before the auto response kicked in.
Not installed it as yet……..
I have to say that it is unusual for Corel to provide any fixes/patches for older versions, so once X6 was released there would be no more patches for X5, at least that’s how I understood it to be.
Maybe Corel are feeling a little kinder to their users.

I have installed it but I am unable to check whether it has changed any thing because I didn't have a problem in the first place.

It is not shown as yet on the UK site so I presumed it came from the colonies. Also the "check for updates" took such a long time I presumed it was from far away.

As Trevor said just above - the Patches and update page is the same one worldwide - you can change which site in the world you log into - but for updates you always end on the same page.

The point I was trying to make was that the Service Pack 2 was not shown on this site when I logged into Corel UK. If the site is global then, therefore, it does not show up on any Corel site. Videostudio X5 Patch 2 is online ??!
In these days it was automatically installed the PATCH 2 in Videostudio X5 but nowhere you can read which bugs are removed !!
I'm using "VIDEOSTUDIO" since 2005: using since Ulead 5+6+7 -->> COREL VIDEO STUDIO 10+11+12+14+15+17+19+19.5+20 WIN 10
