VSX5 Stops a second or 2 from end of project?

Could it be a quicktime problem. I manually uninstalled it, though I could not find the last set of entries listed under where corel shows them?
I scannned my computer and what I find is 4 .ddl files which may be ok for vs studio?
At least this time it showed up in the program files.

Edited. I went to a few qt sites and quick time didn't play. Though videos will play in VS is the QT program necessary for VSX5?

Yes Quick Time Player is required to run the Auto Music using QuickTracks. Not to be confused with Quick Time Player. Some other templates may use Mov types which also need QT

Video Studio X4 installs QuickTime Player Version 7.5.5.

Afaik X5/X6 does not provide Quick Time Player, users would install that.

Have you re-installed Video Studio.?

I update version of VSX5 so what I do is put the disc in then it comes up saying it can not find a previous version, then ask the numbers from the prev. version. I then enter the code for vsx4 without installing it? Therefore Quicktime would not be installed, only those 4 .dll files I mentioned.
Yes I had to go the long way and do it manually, only thing as in previous post some of the registry keys were not were they said they would be so I did not delete them. I would have to go back into the registry to find out where they were.

Level 2 Tech support has been in contact with me, as of yet no luck. I have downloaded the trial version of X6 which has the same problem. He did say that " it seems it's a background process that is hiccuping when called upon, so the main application isn't being affected."
So hopefully we can find something out, I still have not installed QT and have emailed this to him. I am not sure if this would make a difference and thought I would wait till I hear from him. Though I was not sure if X6 is worth upgrading too; I know it will do the same thing.

Been in contact with tech support and the engineers. What they have found after having looking over the system by remote is that it is a codec problem, by uninstalling windows 8 codecs it so far has cleared the problem. They are also working on the remedy,

Thanks for the feedback on the problem. I assume it was a standard package from Microsoft and not an additional one you have installed.
Strange that no other Windows 8 users have reported the issue.

Anyway good news that you are up and running ok, and maybe a pat on the back for Corel Support

They asked me if they could uninstall it, It said something like windows 8 codec (something similar).
Yes Corel support and techs and the engineers were very great about it.

I have Corel Video Studio X5 Pro. When I am viewing the video clips in STORY BOARD VIEW the clip stops 1 second from the end. This happens to all video clips. It doesn't happen in time line view. I can manually move the scrubber through this last second and I can still edit. If I edit the last second out and play the clip it will still stop 1 second from the end. I'm guessing its a simple setting somewhere, but I can't find it and its very irritating! Any one ?????
