Hi

Is it possible to fade a video clip slowly to black?

yes - There is a "Fade to Black" transition which you just put on the end of the video and adjust it's length to whatever you want

OR put a black colour clip from the 'color' library on the end of your video set it to a reasonable length - put a 'Crossfade' transition across the join and make it as long as you want the fade to be.
