I could not find anything on this. Is it possible to insert a video clip into the middle of a project? I have tried inserting a video and it always adds it to the end of the project not where I want it to go.

It is definitely possible to add a video clip to the middle of a project. However, you have to add the new file between two existing files. If you want to add something in the middle of where there is now a continuous video, you have to split the video that's on the timeline. Drag the file you want to add to this split point, and it will be added there.
