Can't launch PSP X5 free trial

I'm a longtime user of PSP ... last install XI ... want to try X5 and downloaded/installed the free trial but it refuses to launch. Very frustrating since I''m in the market for a good graphics editor. After installation, I get the screen where I'm supposed to register but I've been registered. The other screen I get is to purchase the product.

I have a Win7 64bit and wonder if the free trial can handle it.

Any suggestions that would help me launch X5 and try it out will be appreciated!

Very odd. Usually when I have had this sort of problem with other applications it is solved by editing the executable's properties so that it is "Run as Administrator". You have probably done that but it's all I can think of at the moment. If you have any more observations re the problem post them and I will take a look.

I''ve been having issues with X5 over the last couple of days. I've uninstalled & re-installed a number of times.

See this post for what happens when I try to install now - it just refuses. I've tried both the full installer as well as the trial, and both display the same error.

I am having this problem, too. I had it with X4 also! My inbox is full of "thank you for registering" emails, but the program won't go past the register screen. I've been going through all my old emails trying to figure out how I fixed the problem. Nothing I have tried has worked... it's so frustrating!

Just a quick update... I never got the trial to work, but when I bought the upgrade and entered the code, the program worked okay. I still can't register though...
