I just had a look on the Lenovo website and put my machine details in.

This is a link to the updates to the drivers..

I just wondered if any of this could make any difference to things...

I presume Corel will allow this...
Yes it does. The EULA allows it to be installed on up to 3 computers, but only one is to be used at a time, as you also surmise.

Hi Rachel

The error message from proDad that you saw.

Did you confirm that the files were missing or were they in the Vitascene-2.0 folder.

Did you follow the instructions and re-install the bonus pack.

One of the bonus files (Boris I think) will give the option to remove, repair or modify, choose to remove, then run again to install.

I have viewed my leverno laptop and it does seem to be working ok. (windows 7 64bit)
The files do exist with 4 folders populating the proDad folder

Rachel---Whilst you are working with the program tell us if you see any other errors?
Can you try opening the Smart Sound/Auto Music --Right hand icon below the preview screen.

Trevor, all the Prodad files are in the program files (x86) / Prodad/...
There are 4 plug ins created in their own sub folder off this path.

Well I have some strange but true news!!

Firstly, thank you Trevor - Corel support have cintacted me, wanted (is it) DXDIAG information which was sent.
A reply was very quick and I was told that this problem they have seen before, it's very new. They have said its a conflict between running windows 8 and the graphics driver when using the program on my computer. It's been escalated and they are looking into this problem to try and isolate it and get a fix out to the people that are having the issue. I thought that was good news to hear.
In the meantime I tried something last night (I think just thinking ahh this is a fluke!).
What I did will sound a bit mad. I opened the X6 program and before loading my half done project (which has the Prodad effects amongst it) I just first clicked onto the FX section and then individually clicked on each ProDad effect singally - so that it shows the preview of the effect in the left hand preview screen.
Did this for each one.
Then opened my saved project.

No error messages whatsoever came up.

Perhaps - as stupid as this sounds - my computer for whatever conflict is going on in there - is 'blind' to where those ProDad files are. It won't pick where they are at all when loading the project as the first action.
However by "pointing out" so to speak where they are (opening them first just to preview in FX) then it's almost leading the computer and program to their path/folder.
Tried this about 4/5 times. Shut down and restarted and tried. Each time - as long as I did that action it saw the effects and NO errors came up. Reverted back - the errors appeared.

This is NOT to say that this way is the way it should be. This program should run without doing all that. But I guess at least whilst Corel do look into the issue properly - this flukey weird action will allow me to continue my project and use the Prodad effects as was intended.

Thoughts anyone? Weird or is that normal?

:)

Hi Rachel

That is totally weird, but at least you have a work-round till Corel come up with something. So well done in finding that.

Its good that they have recognised the problem and seem to be doing something.

I did ask you earlier if you were having any other problems, in particular the Auto Music option.
Usually when you first open Auto Music the program starts installing files for the libraries, this is ok, its if you get any errors, or indeed cannot access at all.
There are other posters that cannot access Auto Music, and they are also using Windows 8

There does seem to be a few things happening with Video Studio and Windows 8
