Paint Shop Pro X4 and Windows 8

To my surprise PSP X4 does not run on W8. I have W7 on drive C and W8 on drive D. PSP X4 is on drive C. I tried intalling PSP on drive D; instalation was suuccessfully accomplished, but , PSP has not worked. I tried also to run PSP from drive C in compatibility mode, what has not worked too. Could you advice me ?

Have you installed the service packs yet? I found that X4 does not work until you install Sp1 on it. Just make sure you've installed all of the service packs and it should be good.

Yes, I have kept PSP X4 full updated. What is happening in my case, I suppose, is that when I installed it on W8, it placed some mark on the register that impedes it to work.
Also note: after installing X4 and realizing that it did not work, I have tried X5 for 30 days.
