I was having alot of trouble with VS8- capture wouldn't work (runtime error),long rendering times, random "internal error in dvd engine"; horribly pixelated finished dvd. But after studying the posts here, I have just burned an absolutely gorgeous dvd- the quality is excellent. And it didn't take very long! If it may be of interest, the most important things I read here were the warnings to be sure to use the same settings in all the modules; to use the correct field order - frame always comes up as default, so change to upper field (for me); to watch the version numbers when applying the 8.01 patch and the burning engine updates. I'll mention that I believe it was on 2 of the dll's that the version number was identical BUT the dates were different. Of course in each case I went with the newest version AND the newest date. Also, the advice to just bring the video directly into the create disc module, rather than bring in a project was extremely helpful as well.
So, thank you to all you guys for such helpful information. I am now very happy that I bought VS8 and the ac3 powerpack
Success and thank you
