Trouble saving file

When I try to save a small jpg file I get the following:

"Because of the limitations of the specified file (and possibly the save options you've selected) the saved file will be limited to a merged image. Would you like to continue?"

What am I doing wrong?

This is normal behaviour if you have layers, transparency, a selection or vector object present as jpgs do not support this. It is just saying that it will automatically merge your image so that those features are removed and a normal jpg can be saved.
