Transfer from X3 to X5

Post by hwm333 »

The picture frame collection from X3 is far better than the picture frame "collection" in X5. There is one I particularly like so I would like to transfer the module (or a single frame) in X3 to X5, but need to kow where I can find them in each PSP version. Can someone help me?

Go to File -> Preferences -> File Locations

This dialog tells you where PSP is looking for each file type. Click on Picture Frames

You should see one location in your personal documents as well as one in the Program Files folder.

Just move the picture frame to your personal folder or directly between the different installations of PSP.

Thanks. When I opened the X5 picture frame folder in my personel documents, thefolder was empty as were all the other files in location 15.0. I removed that picture frame folder (put it on deesktop) and placed a copy of the X3 picture frame folder in the place of the X5 folder I had just moved - nothing! in X5 when selecting :picture frames, the desktop (empty) folder contents were shown - very confusing. What am I doing wrong?

X5 started having you download things that were originally just part of the program in previous versions. Likely this is to reduce download times for trial users to help people to get up and running faster. Click Help> Corel Guide and choose the Do More tab. There you'll see links to download all sorts of stuff, like the picture frames.

Well, I tried. I've had PSPX5 for some time and registered the product months ago. But when I click on "Help" I'm asked now to register before I can access the Guide. Indeed, I now have 4 e-mails from Corel that I registered. But the same window comes up again. So I went to the chat line and--guess what-- not available. Maybe they went home. So I must wait until someone arrives tomorrow at the office befoe I can get access to the "Corel Guide" and check out your advice.
