It seems a well known bug hit me from time to time in Corel VideoStudio X5 Pro.
First, the background: I use an external frame grabber (Elgato Gamecapture HD) to record my HDMI output on an external computer (Mac Mini 5.1, OS X 10.8.3). So far, this works like a charm.
The software of the Elgato device on my Mac is able to create various file types of the recorded video stream. The default for straight file writing, direct to disk is M4V. In fact, following codec is used:
D:\Videos\Homefront (HD+), Hoehenangst, #008.m4v

The software can not create other types for simple file copying with the exception of the ProRes lossless format. The point is, the files that are created are at last always of the same format and type. I can't change any setting.
Unfortunately, Corel VideoStudio X5 Pro is not able to load all files that were created. Some it can, some it can not. I getting a file format mismatch error on this files, with error number [16803:1:3]. As mentioned all files are of the same type.
I have found different messages on the net about this error but no solution that is finally working. Was anyone able to solve this problem?
