I have now successfully burnt two DVD discs (using MF3 with 12 Mbps MPEG2, rather than DVD std video encoding), with Title and Chapter features, with which I am very pleased.
However, I find that if I select and play a chapter that the disc will play from that point on, to the end of the disc, rather than just to the end of the chapter.
Is there any way that I can compile the disc to either stop at the last frame of the selected chapter or to jump back to the title or one of the chapter selection screens, when it gets to the end of a chapter?
I should also like to be able to select a template with a different number of buttons for each of my chapter selection pages, rather than the same for each, but can't find a way of doing this. Is this possible?
Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks.
Chapter playback & button selection templates?
Re: Chapter playback & button selection templates?
MF3 does not support this. It will only go back to menu if the Titles are finished (not for chapters). DVD WorkShop, i think is capable of doing this because it has an option to create playlist for menu buttons.Mike S wrote: However, I find that if I select and play a chapter that the disc will play from that point on, to the end of the disc, rather than just to the end of the chapter.

the layout for menus and subchapters in DMF is always uniform. If you set a layout of 3 buttons, whether menu or submenu, all the other menu page will have the same layout. Again, workshop is capable of doing this.I should also like to be able to select a template with a different number of buttons for each of my chapter selection pages, rather than the same for each, but can't find a way of doing this. Many thanks for your reply. I'll have a look at DVD workshop.

In case anyone is following this thread, I have found that I can do exactly what I wanted to do by compiling the disc as a series of seperate video segments, which creates coresponding multiple buttons on the title page (s), and forget about creating chapters.
If I now play a segment (having deselected loop play during the authoring), it will jump back to the title page at the end of the sequence.
I have also found that I can simulate a freeze frame, at the end of a sequence, by adding a slide with a long (eg 30 sec) delay.
