Hi - Having just installed VS X6, I have attempted to download all the free templates and so on. However, every time I log on, there is one update remaining - update titled Corel Vs X6. As I attempt to install, the content is for X5 so the installation aborts.
How can I get rid of this annoying pop up? I have only two options - "Remind Me Next Time" or in "7 days!"
I have tried finding the .exe file on my PC but its not there despite the path indicating it should be - albeit it must be as it is running each time I log on to VS6. I have also tried deleting my IE browsing history.

It also seems strange you are getting an update notice. It was only recently released (two weeks ago) and I was not aware of any update being available so soon... Can you take a screen shot of the update message and post it here, please?

Re: Corel VideoStudio X5 Content Pack -I am using X6?
Hi Ken
I have had similar issues, in fact today the Do-More for XP has reset to the same as Windows 7
That is I was seeing different content using W7 to XP. seems to be ok now.
I think Corel are tweaking the downloads and Do More site.
I have another issue regarding Boris using XP to W7, and instant projects, they populate the Instant Projects in W7 but not XP. I will e-mail you tomorrow regarding details.
If that makes sense
so yes i did see a reference to x5, but not now
there is another post referring to the same issue

Ken / Iata
Thank you for such a prompt reply. I am using Win 8 Pro. I have tried locating the path as when the install fails, i am able to see under properties the path. Trouble being albeit it should be there, it's not. From memory something like
Users > Andrew > App data > Temp > Corel VideoStudio > .exe
Ken, apologies for the confusion this is not an actual update as such. When I have gone through the Do More tab, it downloads the content to the PC, and the installation wizard completes the install. As this particular install did not work, it keeps trying to do so every time I switch my PC on once I load up VS X6.
Hope this makes sense.

Hi Alex
Can you view the announcement at the top of this forum regarding
Corel Video Studio X6—Do More problem Fixed
It gives info on what is installed with the various downloads, maybe you can check your installations?
And which download is giving the problem, I assume its just the one?
The Downloads are saved to a Corel/Download folder, this folder is Hidden by the operation system, I don’t have W8 so don’t know where the tick box is, but for XP , any folder –Tools-Folder Options-View tab- select the radio button to Show Hidden Files and folders.
For W7 the download folder is in C: Program Data/Corel/Downloads
Now the folders have strange names, just numbers that don’t really describe anything.
Floating the mouse over for a tool tip may help.
The actual .exe folder also contains a HTM file
For what its worth I have problems with all downloads, they do not install at all and I have to manually run them.
But I think its something I have done rather than a Corel problem.

Hi Trevor
Yes. Just the one install as per the post above from Walt..
The install procedure still refers to installing the X5 Menu Pack.
Ill take another look around trying to find the rogue install .exe file. Once this is deleted I'm sure this pop up will stop.

Hi Alex
The pop-up Install Window may be using an image from your browser history, however if the install is not completing then you may well have a X5 copy.
The downloaded folder contains a two files.
DoMore_Menu_01.exe
and a HTM file showing the download url location which should indicate X6
If it shows as X5 then you have definatley got an X5 version
