If someone has purchased VS, and has registered it, you get free technical help for 90 days from the registration date.
It would be a great help if someone could act as a proxy, and send the file to Corel, and act as the person having a problem.
Just register VS, go the technical help
http://corel.force.com/support/cSelectP ... lang=en_US
and explain that VS always makes the sound intermittent on this simple PC Digital TV card capture file. Also tell them that Sony Movie Studio Platinum 12, Cyberlink PowerDirector 11, and Magix Movie Edit Pro 2013 can all edit it without the problem.
I would do it myself, but and I'm not keen on buying something that has a fault, and that might never get fixed - also money is tight -.
Thanks for any help
Steve

I was able to duplicate your results on Win7 Home Premium 64 bit SP1.
I tried it in both Video Studio 5 and 6 with the same results. I even tried to make a separate .wav audio file and it was copy too.
I will submit to support. Right now with the bugs I am seeing, I giving serious consideration to sending back by version of Visual Studio 5.

Re: Anybody with VideoStudio unregistered, that can help
VS isn't that bad of a product, it's just that it's annoying that it can't edit programs from one particular TV station - I'm probably the only one in the world with that problem -. I have VS 11.5, and still like the product enough to want to upgrade to X5. But what's the incentive if 10% of the editing I do, has to have a work around, when I can just get PowerDirector 11 and spend a small amount of time to get familiar with it - the SVRT rendering is super fast and gives VS save as Same as First Video copy a run for it's money.AnAnalyst wrote:I was able to duplicate your results on Win7 Home Premium 64 bit SP1.

If the product was fixed, I would choose VS 1st.
Just ask them why VS corrupts the sound on that chip, where as Cyberlink, Sony and Magix don't.
Thanks

Sony Vegas Pro 12 thinks it's only 2-channel stereo with an unknown stream.
MotionStudio 3D 1.0; Corel VideoStudio Ultimate X7 (w/o sp1) (Download), Corel PaintShop Pro 15.2.0.12 (Download)

Hmmm... I hadn't actually checked the Properties of the original file in Sony Movie Studio Platinum 12, but like Vegas Pro, it too sees the audio as two channel Dolby with an unknown stream...
