Error 4 (damaged files) after X6 install

Post by hesham_11 »

I am getting “Error: 4 – Corel VideoStudio files have been damaged or modified. Please reinstall your original source.” with VS Pro X6 trial download. Install runs normally. But when I try to run the software, I get the above error immediately.

Things I have tried:

- Uninstalled from control panel, followed by cleanup tool (VSX4_Cleanup. Is there a more recent version for X5 or X6 ?)
- Deleted the Setup Files folder “Corel VideoStudio Pro X6 Setup Files”, and cleared TEMP files. Rebooted
- Downloaded installer again and repeated install. Rebooted. Tried to run. Same Error
- Confirmed “Protexis Licensing V2” service is running

- No prior version of the software was ever installed on this system
- Running Win 7 Pro x64 SP1. Thinkpad T420 with integrated graphics.

I am out of ideas. Any help would be appreciated. I heard great things about this software. But without a solution, this trial version is turning out to be a big waste of time.

I think I ran in a similar situation about a year ago.
I had to restore the sytem to a previous date (before the problem appear)
I reinstall video studio and that solve my problem

Hope that help
